Privacy. What happens to the details you send.

In short: only what you type into the form or put in an email, used to answer you, and nothing sold, tracked or sent to a mailing list.

Who is responsible

Nomenclator is the trading name of Christopher Beaumont, a sole trader in Aberdeen, Scotland, who is the data controller for this site. Questions about your data go to christopherbeaumont@nomenclator.co.uk.

What is collected

Through the snapshot form: your name, your email address, your business and website, which offer you chose, how you heard about Nomenclator, and anything you add in the optional rivals field. Through email: whatever you choose to send.

The site sets no cookies. It counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and builds no profile of you: it records the page viewed, the site you came from, and your country, device type and browser, and tells one visit from another only by a code made from the request that is discarded every day. Your browser also remembers, for that visit only, that you’ve seen the opening animation, so it isn’t shown twice. Like any website, the host records technical details of each visit (such as your IP address) in server logs, kept briefly for security.

Why, and on what basis

To prepare the snapshot or the audit scope you asked for, and to reply to you. This is processing at your request before any agreement (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(b)). If you become a client, your details are kept to deliver the work and for the business’s records (contract, and legal obligation for tax records).

Visitor counts are kept to see which pages are useful, as a legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)); they identify no one.

Your business’s name and website, which are public, are put to AI assistants as part of the snapshot. Your personal details are not. There is no mailing list, no automated decision-making, and nothing is ever sold.

Who else handles it

Vercel hosts the site and provides its visitor counts. Resend delivers each form submission as an email to the practice’s inbox; both may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires. The practice’s own email provider holds the messages. No one else receives your details.

How long it’s kept

Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted after twelve months. For clients, records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires, and the dated answers behind an audit for twelve months, as the scope and terms explain.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it’s used, by emailing christopherbeaumont@nomenclator.co.uk. You’ll have a reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
